The Venice Sail and Power Squadron(VSPS) was chartered on November 10, 1958 as a unit of the United States Power Squadrons®, a non-profit organization, dedicated to boating safety. We have 100 members who are interested in boating activities and education. We hold regular monthly membership meetings and cruises, as well as teaching the United States Power Squadrons® America's Boating course. The VBPS is one of more than 400 squadrons nationwide that are dedicated to making boating safer by teaching boating classes for all types of vessels. Our goal is to promote safe boating while working within the United States Power Squadron mission statement: "To promote recreational boating skills and boating safety through education, hands-on training, and civic activities while providing fellowship for members.". Locally, we have more than 300 members who enjoy recreational boating activities using paddle craft, sailing and motorized vessels.
