Plauer Wassersportverein e.V.
The Plauer Wassersportverein e.V. was founded on March 6, 1991. The club does not see itself as the successor to the former company sports association (BSG) "Traktor" Klebe. However, some of the tasks of the BSG were also taken over. Among other things, special emphasis was placed on the continuation of children's and youth sports. The name of the association was not chosen arbitrarily. The name of the club indicates that the club is open to all active water sports enthusiasts. Water sports are carried out on the basis of the non-profit and the amateur spirit. That is also written into the statutes of the association. The maintenance of a group of children and young people is also written in the statutes. The club is primarily geared towards sailing. For this purpose, sailing regattas are organized and held annually, now also as part of the International Sailing Summer. Sailors of the association also take part in regattas with varying degrees of success. The association currently has 77 adult members and 24 children and young people. The association currently has its own fleet of optimists and lasers that are made available to the children, motor boats to secure the education of children and young people and the tug "MS Vodka". Rostocker Yachtclub e.V.
The Rostock Yacht Club is one of the oldest sailing clubs that have settled on the Warnow. In 2005 the 100th anniversary of the sailing club was proudly celebrated. During this time the association and its members were part of the eventful German history: not only two world wars, but also five different political systems. are behind us. Founded in the German Empire, we have arrived in reunified Germany today. The association has settled on the Unterwarnow in the Rostock district of Gehlsdorf, directly opposite the historically important city harbor. The historical club building, visible from afar, shapes the image of the city, as do the well-tended footbridges that protrude into the Warnow. What the members have in common yesterday and today, in addition to having fun in sailing, is also the desire to achieve set goals together and to actively help shape the life of the club. The association can look back with pride on many successes in the past, which we will continue to work on in the future. The children and young people plays an important role. The youngest members, especially the optimist group and laser sailors, experience diverse support from their own families and the association in order to be able to build on their successes.
