  • Sunshine Coast Dragon Boat Club Sunshine Coast Dragon Boat Club
Dragon Boating has been offered on the Sunshine Coast for the past 5 years. Our club began as a division of the Gibsons Paddle Club and is now a newly formed (2010) separate non profit society known as the Sunshine Coast Dragon Boat Club. The club owns 3 dragon boats which are kept at the MacKenzie Marina on beautiful Porpoise Bay through the generosity of Mr. Don MacKenzie. Our boats are 29 ft, 39 ft. and 48 ft. long and hold 10-22 paddlers along with a club approved coach and steersperson. The paddling season extends from April to the end of September with many opportunities on the water for having fun, improving fitness levels, and learning the techniques involved in paddling a dragon boat. We have approximately 130 adult members who sign up in January each year for one of our teams. Each team has a unique character and offers a different combination of recreational and competitive experience. Sechelt, BC Canada
