    The Lake George Power Squadron is a member of the United States Power Squadron, a private, non-profit, non-governmental, non-military organization of men, women and families who share a common love of recreational boating both on Lake George and other area lakes and waterways. The Squadron conducts a variety of educational programs and courses that are open to the public. Youngsters and old timers, neophytes and old salts, weekend sailors and circumnavigators, sailors, power boaters, jet skiers, windsurfers, canoers, and kayakers alike make up our membership. You do not need to own a boat to join our Squadron.     The Mayfield Yacht Club is located in Mayfield, New York on the Great Sacandaga Lake. The club was founded in 1930, the same year this large, 28 mile long lake was created by the Hudson River Regulating District (now Hudson River - Black River Regulating District.) We are a working club, not a marina. We have three scheduled work parties every year, and club members are encouraged to participate. We build and float our own docks, maintain the clubhouse and grounds, and perform most basic repairs needed about the club. We have a number of activities that include all members. We conduct a junior sailing program most every year, have a sailboat racing program for both large and small boat sailors, a women's sailboat race, a "powerboater" breakfast (the best!), and Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day parties.     One of the oldest boat clubs in the Hudson Valley the Newburgh Yacht Club sits at the base of the resurgent historic district of Newburgh NY. The Newburgh Yacht Club was organized as the Newburgh Canoe and Boating Association in 1885. In the early years they became known as the "Dock Rats" because the Headquarters apparently was in the almost inaccessible recesses of a dock storehouse at the foot of Fourth Street.
