We also want to provide opportunities for interested members to address local and national issues that may seriously impact our environment or our paddling rights.     The Red Hook Boaters is a volunteer organization that provides free kayaking in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Our mission is to help people get on the water and enjoy the New York Harbor, and to instill a sense of protection for our unique coastal environment by maintaining the small-boat launch site from which we operate. Since 2006, thousands of people have joined us for a paddle inside the protected waters of the Louis Valentino Jr. Pier Park. We provide all the equipment along with paddling & safety tips. You arrive, put your name on a list, and then take a kayak out for a short paddle to explore the cove at your own pace (you will get a little wet). Afterwards, you can join us in our beach cleanup.     Saratoga Rowing Association was founded as a club team by Christopher Chase and a small group of very committed students on October 19, 1996. Mr. Chase had a vision to coach a successful, but all-inclusive team. The team instantly became one of the largest, fastest growing teams in New York State; in less than twenty years the program has grown dramatically. The current program supports over 160 students year round with indoor winter training, spring, summer and fall sessions on the water. Founded with the purpose of providing education, training and participation in the sport of rowing, SRA has developed many programs that offer great opportunities to the entire community. Currently SRA programs include Scholastic and Community rowing which are held over the course of three seasons, a Learn to Row program for potential rowers, and a Masters Rowing program which allows adults to participate in the sport.     We Offer: Free community rowing sessions, April to November, Sundays at noon, plus many special events including races, round-Manhattan rows, and camping expeditions. In the winter, we also offer free community boatbuilding sessions on Wednesday afternoons and Sundays.
