Founded in 1954, the Maine Lobstermen's Association works hard to protect the lobster resource, our traditions and way of life. Founded on the principles of unity and cooperation, the MLA was formed by lobstermen to empower Maine’s lobster industry by speaking with a united voice. Our strength is in our numbers. We are the largest commercial fishing industry group on the east coast, representing the interests of 1200 lobstermen from Eastport to Kittery. As a commercial fishing organization, we are only as strong as our membership. If you are a lobsterman, we work for you and need your support!
