- Fly Fish Roatan
Fly Fish Roatan
Our fishery is located on the NW side of Roatan. We have approximately 25 miles of permit flats along w the opportunity to explore the East end from Oakridge as well. Permit is the word of the day on the NW side of Roatan. Mostly poling large deeper grass flats for cruising and feeding permit. Water depth ranges from 1'-8' over mostly turtle grass so medium weight WEEDLESS flies. Occasionally we step out to wade. Tevas and keens are adequate for our wading needs. Bonefish numbers have been increasing with a few shots a day available. Occasionally we run into big cudas as well. So a few cuda flies are always good to have handy. Roatan, Honduras

- Forktail Lodge
Forktail Lodge
We are a new locally owned premier all-inclusive boutique fly fishing lodge on the quiet East End side of Roatan Island in Honduras. We offer luxurious modern accommodations and fine cuisine at our waterfront properties, combined with world-class saltwater flats fishing for Permit, Bonefish and Tarpon. While traditional poling and casting techniques from our custom fly fishing skiffs is always an option, we offer the unique “spot and stalk” method for Permit as well as bonefish. 75 percent of our Permit are hunted by spotting tails or pushes out of the boat, which provides you with a more intimate connection with the black devil. Our Bonefish are plentiful and of good size, averaging 3-4 lbs. and as large as 8 lbs. Small, 5 to 60-pound Tarpon are available to pursue for anglers who want those heavy takes and spectacular acrobatics. Whatever your species of choice, head guide Joevy Bodden and staff use their many years experience fishing and guiding in their native waters to get you the heart-pounding shots you crave on a daily basis! - Roatan Bone & Permit Fishing
Roatan Bone & Permit Fishing
Hi I'm Tex Dilbert, born and raised on the island of Roatan. I started fishing at a young age with my father with a hand line off the beach catching snapper and smaller fish. One day my father pointed out the bonefish moving and tailing on the flats, we decided to start catching them also and this is where my love of fishing began. At the age of 12, I started working with a fishing company - deep sea fishing for Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Marlin and Sail Fish. But my love for flat fishing has always remained strong and now I hope to share this passion with you as we expore the fishing flats of Roatan for Permit and Bone Fish. This is how my Roatan fishing adventure started, come fishing with me and let yours begin! Roatan, Honduras
