  • Lansing Trout Unlimited Lansing Trout Unlimited
We conserve land through outreach and restoration. The Lansing Chapter of Trout Unlimited was renamed the Frank Bob Perrin Chapter "Bob" Perrin Chapter in November 2003. Frank "Bob" Perrin was a true Michigan outdoorsman who, through his tireless work with Trout Unlimited, Ruffed Grouse Society, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited, was an advocate for the hunters and fishermen of Michigan. The renaming of the chapter honors his commitment to coldwater fisheries, his over 40 years of dedicated leadership to the Lansing Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and his passion for the development and preservation of trout habitat. The Perrin Lansing Chapter fully supports the national Trout Unlimited mission to conserve, protect, and restore North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. Lansing, Michigan

Conserving, Protecting and Restoring Northwest Michigan Rivers. Chartered in 1996 at a meeting of concerned individuals, the Adams Chapter of Trout Unlimited includes nearly 400 men, women, and youth. The Boardman, Betsie and Platte Rivers are within our district. We’re also within an hour of the Manistee, Pine, Pere Marquette, Rapid and Au Sable Rivers. We endorse catch and release, but if you choose to keep fish, please consider “Limiting your kill rather than killing your limit.” It’s a large, diverse, relaxed group with everyone in agreement on one thing: It’s all about preserving our cold-water resources. Since our creation, we have donated over $200,000 to Northwest Michigan non-profits and schools with the goal of conserving, protecting, and restoring our local cold-water resources. We volunteer our time to educate both youth and adults about conservation through stream projects, guest speakers, school programs, participation in community festivals, and many other great events. • Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited
The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited is under the Michigan Council of Trout Unlimited and is part of the national Trout Unlimited organization with over 300,000 members. Our chapter has over 350 members within Michigan’s Upper Peninsula—an area of approximately 17,000 square miles. The Upper Peninsula has several thousand miles of coldwater streams that drain into Lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron. The heavily forested area covers a rugged topography reflecting a complex hard rock geology in the west and a sedimentary geology in the east. It is a sparsely populated region with little agriculture resulting in wilderness conditions in much of the area. The resources of the Upper Peninsula have been relentlessly exploited for centuries starting with the fur trade, then mining and logging and over harvesting of native trout. These natural resources exploitation have had negative effects on the streams and the near extinction of coaster brook trout and the total loss of grayling. Fred Waara TU fulfills its mission through advocacy and education regarding impacts to aquatic ecosystems and by sponsoring and engaging volunteers in hands-on projects to rehabilitate coldwater systems. • Headwaters Chapter Trout Unlimited Headwaters Chapter Trout Unlimited
The mission of Headwaters Trout Unlimited is to conserve, protect and restore northeastern Michigan’s cold-water fisheries through conservation, education and outreach activities. The Headwaters Chapter was first founded in 1978, by avid trout-fishermen from the Gaylord area: Fred Snook, Dave Smethurst, Earl Kimble, Joe Comella, Stephen Swan, Jack Walling, Jerry Zeneberg, Roger Greve, Bill Karnes, Dr. Sibley Hoobler, and John Smith from Michigan TU. From those beginnings in the late 1970’s, the Headwaters Chapter has grown to encompass five Northeast Lower Michigan counties: Otsego, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Alpena, and Montmorency. There are more than 630 miles of “Blue Ribbon” trout streams that begin in our region. More than that, there are many rivers, streams, and tributaries that do not have this designation, but are beautiful places to fish for trout. Gaylord, Michigan

Our chapter’s mission statement is: To conserve, protect and restore North America’s cold water fisheries and their watersheds, and to promote angling in a sportsmanlike manner. Although trout and their environs are special to us and are at the heart of our organization, many of our members enjoy the pursuit of other species as well. Also, most of us are fly fishers, but TU takes no position on fishing methods, and all conservation minded fisher persons are welcome. Similarly, many of us practice catch-and-release, but that is a personal preference and that also is not a TU mandate. • Schrems West Michigan Trout Unlimited Schrems West Michigan Trout Unlimited
The Schrems West Michigan Trout Unlimited chapter was founded in 1962 because of the concerns for the health of our local streams and the wild trout that live in them. Our chapter, since its beginning, has been involved with many activities from river clean-up, stream monitoring, bank erosion and its reconstruction, fish shocking, invertebrate studies and fly fishing clinics, along with the many concerns that effect our environment in today’s society. Our work on the river needs continuous attention, dedication and volunteer labor from trout enthusiasts, because what affects us today will be left behind for the next generations. Our chapter work and contributions to rivers include: the Pere Marquette, Rogue, Muskegon, Au Sable and Coldwater Rivers. Grand Rapids, Michigan
