The Ledyard Canoe Club has a long history with whitewater. The club was an olympic training ground early in the history of the sport, and has grown into a large community of whitewater paddlers of all abilities. We lead trips all over the northeast, teach people who have never been in a boat before to roll and read water, and take a yearly spring break trip down to Asheville, North Carolina as well as a winter break trip to Ecuador. We are a group of paddlers who informally paddle together on a regular basis, and organize training trips on rivers ranging from an easy Class II (for beginners) to difficult Class IV and more (for advanced paddlers looking to hone their technique). We assist new paddlers in learning the skills needed to both paddle safely and have fun! We also maintain a fleet of rental boats, including Rubber Duckies, that club members may rent. New Hampshire Appalachian Mountain Club Paddling. Paddling on rivers, lakes, ponds, estuaries, and coasts throughout New England, we offer organized trips, courses, instruction, and great fun for canoeists and kayakers of all experience levels. Come paddle with us! Like other AMC groups, the NH AMC paddling group is for outdoor enthusiasts with an interest in paddling as well as a concern for protecting and conserving our waterways. Paddling trips for all skill levels and moods are offered nearly every weekend from early March until late October.
