  • Montana Canoe Club & Inland NW Canoe Club Montana Canoe Club & Inland NW Canoe Club
The Inland NW Canoe Club was formed in 2023 as a 501c3 entity. Included in this club are both the Coeur d’Alene Club, as well as the Montana Canoe Club. These clubs paddle on both Lake Coeur d’Alene and Flathead Lake. The Montana Canoe Club paddles out of Big Arm, MT and hosts a fleet of OC6’s, 1’s and 2’s that are shared with the Silver Lining Montana all-breast cancer paddling team. Silver Lining Montana began as a dragon boat team but discovered the outrigger during the Covid pandemic, many thanks to Uncle Kimokeo Kapahulehua and Jake Freeman. These groups work hand-in-hand together, creating community around the canoe with a focus on honoring the traditions of both Native American and Hawaiian canoe culture and protecting our Mother Earth and the waters on which we paddle. We acknowledge that the Montana Canoe Club is on the aboriginal territory of the Ksanka (Kootenai) people and we recognize and welcome all the members of the SKC tribe, including the Ksanka (Kootenai), Seliš (Salish), and Qlispé (Kalispel). We honor the path they have always shown us in caring for this place for the generations to come. Big Arm, Montana
