The Carolina Yacht Club is a sailing and social club, with membership by invitation only. The Carolina Yacht Club was founded in 1883 by young men wanting to share their interest in sailing and yacht racing. Welcome to the Charleston Model Yacht Club. CMYC has existed for 30 years starting in 1986. Our sailing fleet consists of East Coast 12 Meter (EC12)and the Soling One Meter (S1M) classes ( 2 of the largest AMYA Class registrations). The Charleston Ocean Racing Association (CORA) was formed in 1967 and races year round in Charleston's historic harbor and offshore waters.
