    Ranelagh is a friendly sailing club in Central London with a great history. RSC sailors have won many national and international championships. Some of the most successful dinghy designers have been members of the club, including Jack Holt, who also designed and built the first Merlin Rocket for Ranelagh sailors. The club house provides storage for about 80 boats. Ranelagh Sailing Club was founded in 1889 and enjoys a superb and convenient location on the bank of the River Thames.     The Retford and Worksop Boat Club is the largest and the oldest boat club on the Chesterfield Canal. It was formed in 1961 by a group of like-minded enthusiasts with the aim of frustrating British Waterways' plan to prohibit all navigation on the 26 mile stretch between West Stockwith and Worksop. Their relentless campaigning against this move is well documented and eventually resulted in changes to the 1968 transport act. The waterway retained its classification as a fully maintained 'Cruiseway', thus securing its future for generations to come. Since then, the the club's focus has been towards the social side of boating, leaving the Chesterfield Canal Trust to continue campaigning for its full restoration.     Established in 1950, RCC has encouraged and facilitated sailing on the Ribble estuary (and further a field) for 60 years. We have a comfortable clubhouse with a well stocked bar, fully equipped galley and large lounge with arguably the best available panoramic views of the Ribble estuary. RCC's cruising fleet of some 100 yachts is based at our 'dock' facility about a mile upriver from the clubhouse, enjoying both the best non-commercial yacht facilities available on this part of the coast and easy tidal access to the Irish Sea.     Rossendale Valley Sailing club is situated high up on the moors between Burnley and Rossendale offering excellent sailing and windsurfing. With an open aspect to the surrounding moors, and at nearly 1000ft elevation, the reservoir is open 12 months of the year, offers excellent wind conditions and there is often someone on the water having a great time no matter what their skill level. There is a well established Wednesday Night Racing programme, with a growing race series held on Sundays. During the summer months Saturday's is youth training, with established Sailing and Windsurfing activities taking place. Social sailing is encouraged at all times, whether a complete novice, returning or experienced sailor.
