It was founded in 1974 on the initiative of Dr. Nikolaus Weger, then a member of the Inning town council. Today, the SCIA has more than 200 members and owns approximately 7,000 square meters of club grounds directly on the eastern shore of the lake. Sailing enthusiasts, families, and other sailors will find a sporting home with us. We are a small, uncomplicated club with approximately 100 members. At our dry dock in Mols, we offer berths for light boats (up to 250 kg). In Unterterzen, we use a barn near the harbor as a depot for our regatta equipment (boats, buoys, etc.). Our members have the opportunity to use our club's dinghies (one RS Vareo , two Lasers, and one Optimist). During the season, we offer an attractive regatta program in cooperation with the SMCGW. The Sailing Association of Lower Saxony (SVN) is the sailing division of the Lower Saxony State Sports Federation (LSB). It is based in Hanover and is a member of the German Sailing Association (DSV). It comprises approximately 200 clubs with around 27,000 members. The SVN is divided into four regional associations, whose boundaries correspond to those of the former administrative districts of Lower Saxony. While the focus of cruising and recreational sailing lies in the coastal areas, the high-level regattas for dinghy classes, some with international participation, take place in the Leine-Weser regional association, specifically on the "Steinhuder Meer" and "Dümmer See" waters. The SVN (Sailing Club of Lower Saxony) upholds the principles of amateurism and pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes. Its main objectives—the promotion of sailing, the preservation of existing sailing areas, and the development of new ones—serve all levels of sailing, from cruising and recreational sailors to competitive and regatta sailors, surfers, land and ice sailors, and model sailors. The St Helena Yacht Club is the only yacht club in the South Atlantic Ocean. It has been sailing out of St Helena Island since 1998, and hosts the international ocean race - Governor's Cup Yacht Race from Cape Town, South Africa to James Bay, St Helena every 2 years. St Helena Island

Ours is a sailing club of over 200 sailing and boating enthusiasts. We do not own a clubhouse nor a marina, so our costs are quite reasonable. The boats in the club range from small day sailors and racers to 50 foot cruisers and multihulls. Yet it does not matter if you own a boat or not. Many of our members do not own boats and routinely serve as crew members on other people’s boats. We meet once a month – normally the first Monday of the month, 7:00 PM at the Palm City Community Center. If that happens to be a holiday, the meeting is cancelled and we normally have a social event early that month.
