Dolphin Biology and Conservation
We are biologists and marine conservation experts committed to preserving marine biodiversity and reducing human impacts on cetaceans, with emphasis on the Mediterranean. We produce publications and disseminate science-based information with focus on factors threatening dolphins and marine life. We monitor dolphin populations to assess abundance, detect trends and identify important habitat. In collaboration with Texas A&M University and OceanCare, we co-teach marine biology courses, supervise students and conduct other education programmes.

- Dolphin Encounters Nassau Bahamas
Dolphin Encounters Nassau Bahamas
Here at Dolphin Encounter Ltd, our mission is to provide the general public and concerned dolphin lovers the opportunity to see their dreams come true. We see the evidence of this every day as we watch the faces of our guests when they meet one of our dolphins for the very first time. Through our educational lectures and the intimate contact with the dolphins that our guests receive, we are able to teach people how special the dolphins are. Ultimately, because of this knowledge, we hope that everyone will become even more committed to conservation issues involving not only dolphins but all marine mammals and their environment. Dolphin Encounters is one of the top tourist attractions in The Bahamas and is owned and operated by a local family. It began in 1989 when two Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins were rescued from an aquarium that closed in Nassau, Bahamas.

International Marine Mammal Project
For more than 30 years, the International Marine Mammal Project has led the fight to protect dolphins, whales, and the ocean environment. We pioneered the "Dolphin Safe" tuna fishing standard, stopping the intentional chasing and netting of dolphins and preventing hundreds of thousands of dolphin deaths every year. We directed the historic rescue and release of the orca whale Keiko, made famous in the movie Free Willy. We are fighting to end the tragic slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan, as featured in the Academy Award–winning movie The Cove. And we're campaigning to stop all trade in live dolphins and end the captivity of whales and dolphins for circus performances. Berkeley, California
