From organizing championships to rating boats using the latest handicap standards, YRALIS is dedicated to promoting safe, fair and challenging sailboat racing throughout Western Long Island Sound. Today, we have over 65 member clubs, and nearly a thousand individual members. Over 700 boats are registered in the PHRF fleet, racing in both spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes. In addition, there are several offshore one-designs. Our member clubs and class associations provide inshore one-design competition and support learn-to-sail programs for sailors new to the sport.

Welcome to the Yacht Racing Association of San Francisco Bay, the primary organization supporting competitive racing in Northern California. Through our efforts to promote, coordinate and administer organized racing, we help make competitive sailing in the Bay Area possible. In all we do, the YRA acts as an advocate for sailing in the Bay. We pride ourselves on being responsive to the racing needs and desires of our members. From maintaining buoys, assisting with race management, appeals, and administering PHRF Certificates, to acting as the liaison for the Coast Guard, the YRA ensures races happen in a fair, safe, fun and competitive way for racers at all levels. The mission of The Yacht Racing Union of the Great Lakes is to provide the ultimate challenges for sailing in the Great Lakes region and grow sailboat racing in Great Lakes region as a whole. Today, the Yacht Racing Union of the Great Lakes is truly an international sailing organization of world class sailors hailing from the geographic region of the Great Lakes. YRUGL continues to be the current guardian of two prestigious sail boat racing trophies, The Richardson Trophy and the Barthel Trophy.
