Sail Training Association of Sweden, abbreviated STAS, is a national organization of the international parent organization Sail Training International (STI). The association was founded in 1998 and has the following tasks: to disseminate information about opportunities for young people to sail aboard Swedish sailing ships, to organize participation in The Tall Ships Races (TSR) for Swedish ships, and to coordinate applications from Swedish cities that wish to be a host port during the TSR. In addition, extensive work is underway on maritime safety issues and mediation between our Swedish sailing ship companies and the relevant authorities.
