    One of the primary missions of the Tacoma Women's Sailing Association is to promote sailing education on and around Puget Sound. Volunteers donate time and equipment to teach a variety of classes. Most, but not all , of the instructors are women, and one of the objectives of the classes is to offer an environment that will be comfortable for sailors of all skill levels to learn more about the sport.     A non-profit organization dedicated to serving the youth of Washington State by opening new pathways to maritime employment and building awareness of the maritime industry. YMTA will promote and support elementary, middle and high school programs and associated youth organizations in Washington State that provide maritime education, training and experiences for students. While YMTA’s main focus is working with students in grades K-12 we also attempt to make information available for maritime educational opportunities. These include maritime academies, community colleges, trade schools and maritime specific training.
