Welcome to water skiing on the worlds largest chain of interconnected fresh water lakes in the world. Our club takes pride in our history and achievements. Our members put in a lot of time and effort on and off the water to put together the best possible show. The Water Bugs were formed back in 1958 on Okauchee Lake by a group of skiers with a variety of talent who wanted to show their skills to spectators. Thus, the Water Bugs were one of the first ski show clubs in the state of Wisconsin. An objective of the Muskego Water Bugs is to educate youths in the techniques, rules, regulations and safety in the sport of water skiing.

In June of 1972, a group of La Crosse area skiers, interested in promoting the sport of water skiing, decided to form a team that was, and still is, known as the River City Water Ski Show Team. Their main goal was to promote water safety, perform ski shows during the summer, prepare skiers for competitive skiing, and to promote the sport of water skiing as a safe, family type recreation. Our team has grown to over seventy members including both skiers and non-skiers. Every Wednesday night, we perform free ski shows for local residents and tourists. We also compete in at least two show ski competitions, including the State Tournament held in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
