Scuba diving is a totally awesome sport. Until recently, only older kids and adults could do it. Not anymore! Now there's Scuba Rangers, a way cool scuba club for kids ages 8 to 12. The Scuba Ranger Club is all about fun and learning with other active Scuba Rangers. While no two Clubs are the same, most are organized groups who get together to have fun diving, learn more about scuba, and participate in other fun activities. Many Clubs are located in places similar to your town, but many are on exotic islands. This means there may be a Scuba Ranger Club where your family goes on vacation, so you can go diving without your mom and dad!

The Smithsonian Institution Scientific Diving Program is a research support program in the Office of the Under Secretary for Science. Scientists from interdisciplinary fields are using scuba diving as a research tool to study the underwater environment. The Program promotes and supports the underwater research activities and diving safety of Smithsonian scientific divers, and supports one of the largest scientific diving programs in the country.

The NOAA Diving Program, or NDP, is administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and is headquartered at the NOAA Diving Center in Seattle, Washington. The NOAA Diving Program trains and certifies scientists, engineers and technicians to perform the variety of tasks carried out underwater to support NOAA's mission. With more than 400 divers, NOAA has the largest complement of divers of any civilian federal agency.
