Aida is an organization of freedivers. AIDA has grown to an international federation and is the single largest organizer of international freediving competitions, rules and regulations. The mission of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) is to advance and facilitate safe and productive scientific diving. International Diving Educators Association. IDEA was originally established in 1952 as part of the Florida Skin Divers Association, which later became Florida Scuba Divers Association (FSDA). Committee members of the original Scuba Training Committee decided that they had outgrown FSDA and a new name, a new logo and a new direction was forthcoming. The National Association of Black Scuba Divers (NABS) was established in 1991 by Ric Powell and Dr A. Jose Jones.
