  • Association of Diving Contractors
    Founded in 1968, the Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc. was originally a small group of diving companies with a goal to create a non-profit organization dedicated to the art and science of commercial diving. The establishment of industry-wide safe standards for commercial diving was the foundation upon which the ADCI was built. Since then, the ADCI has grown to encompass more than 600 member companies, furnishing services and/or support for the conduct of safe underwater operations. Initially comprised of just U.S. domiciled companies, the Association now has companies from 41 other nations throughout the world.

  • AUE - The Association of Underwater Explorers
    A coalition of divers dedicated to the research, exploration, documentation, and preservation of submerged cultural resources. AUE is not a dive club. Over the years, we have explored numerous notable shipwrecks, including the U.S.S. Monitor, Andrea Doria, U.S.S. Wilkes Barre, Queen of Nassau (formerly the C.G.S. Canada), U.S.S. Virginia, and the H.M.H.S. Britannic. Frequently the first to visit new shipwreck sites, we have also identified almost two dozen unidentified vessels. Most of our group are also highly experienced cave divers.

  • IDEA - The pioneer in diving education
    International Diving Educators Association. IDEA was originally established in 1952 as part of the Florida Skin Divers Association, which later became Florida Scuba Divers Association (FSDA). Committee members of the original Scuba Training Committee decided that they had outgrown FSDA and a new name, a new logo and a new direction was forthcoming. In February of 1978, the members voted to expand the Scuba Training Committee to an International Certification Agency, based upon the same principles as the original committee. The International Diving Educators Association (IDEA) was officially formed.

    The National Association of Black Scuba Divers (NABS) was established in 1991 by Ric Powell and Dr A. Jose Jones. Ric Powell and Dr. Jones were two of the earliest African-Americans to become certified divers, and their collaboration resulted in the creation of NABS which purpose was to foster camaraderie among African American divers, and to address the unique problems and concerns of the African-American community.
