Welcome to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) online Permit Shop, where you can buy and renew federal permits for Atlantic Highly Migratory Species (tunas, billfishes, swordfish, and sharks), update permit information, and report landings of bluefin tuna, blue marlin, white marlin, roundscale spearfish, sailfish, and swordfish. The Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Management Division manages a number of fish species in U.S. Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico waters known as highly migratory species (HMS).

The American Bluefin Tuna Association (ABTA) was formed to protect the Atlantic bluefin tuna fishermen’s traditional access and quota share. Today, ABTA’s mission has expanded to include all species of tuna that are harvested in the US Fishery including bluefin, bigeye, albacore, yellowfin and skipjack tuna.
