  • Seattle Outrigger Canoe Club
Paddling an outrigger canoe takes more than just muscle. It takes coordination, six paddlers working as one. When thoughts and effort come together, and the 40 foot, 400 pound canoe glides forward in a seemingly effortless way, the feeling is something that can't be duplicated any other way. In 1996 a group of paddling friends longing for that special feeling got together and founded the Seattle Outrigger Canoe Club. In the years that followed, the club has competed in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California and all over the Pacific Northwest Region. Team members have also raced at the national and international level.
