  • Waterline
National River Levels and Flow Forecasts. Waterline is a national electronic publication that provides river flow forecasts and water level reports over the telephone and on the Web. Waterline flow forecasts are provided by the controllers of the sites being forecast and are updated in real time. These forecasts are published simultaneously on the telephone hotline and here on Waterline's Web site. Most river level readings are taken from river gauges that report over the NOAA's GOES satellite system.

  • WaterWatch
Maps and graphs of current water resources conditions in the U.S. WaterWatch is a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) World Wide Web site that displays maps, graphs, and tables describing real-time, recent, and past streamflow conditions for the United States. The real-time information generally is updated on an hourly basis. WaterWatch provides streamgage-based maps that show the location of more than 3,000 long-term (30 years or more) USGS streamgages; use colors to represent streamflow conditions compared to historical streamflow; feature a point-and-click interface allowing users to retrieve graphs of stream stage (water elevation) and flow; and highlight locations where extreme hydrologic events, such as floods and droughts, are occurring.

Next Adventure has now taken over as the primary sponsor for the WWCS. The schedule includes Kayak and raft races and/or events throughout Washington, Oregon, California, and Montana.

  • Wildwater Canoeing
Wildwater is one of the most physically demanding of the ICF’s Canoe Disciplines. In the Classic Wildwater races, athletes race down a course of four to five miles of class three to four whitewater, yet it also requires strategic insight to balance raw power and speed with considered execution and perfect timing. In other words, athletes need to be strong and fast yet calm and calculating. An athlete’s success depends on their ability to pass over waves, holes and rocks of a natural riverbed while remaining "zen-like". International Canoe Federation, Lausanne, Switzerland
