For many of us the fun of competition is also important, racing against similar clubs around Scotland end elsewhere – all competing in similar St Ayles skiffs. Like everyone we like to win, but if we don’t we still get a buzz. In summer we also do longer rowing journeys with other clubs, e.g. to Inchkeith, Bass Rock, the River Tweed and Lewis. Communities are encouraged to become involved in the building of new boats to be rowed, principally the St Ayles skiff.
