- DeTour Reef Lighthouse
new
Since 1847, a lighthouse has been located at DeTour Passage at the northwestern head of Lake Huron. Originally placed on shore at Point DeTour, Michigan, the Light was moved offshore to DeTour Reef in 1931. The Light marks the mouth of the St. Mary's River, which connects Lake Huron to Lake Superior. It is well known to ship captains and pleasure boaters who sail the upper Great Lakes. For generations the Light at DeTour Passage has provided a beacon for those vessels seeking the "Gateway to Superior". Drummond Island, Michigan

- Harbor Beach Lighthouse
new
In 2010, the GSA, USCG and State of Michigan transferred the lighthouse and the rights to continue occupying the bottomlands to the City of Harbor Beach, and a very successful first season of tours began in 2011. Our tours are a first rate journey into the past and present, and our docent volunteers are well trained and organized. The lighthouse is restored to an early 20th century style, full of antique furnishings and other period pieces that approximate the lifestyle of a keeper and his family. Harbor Beach, Michigan

- Save Our South Channel Lights
updated
Lake St. Clair has two lighthouse structures built before Abraham Lincoln was President of the United States. They still stand today just off the southeastern tip of Harsens Island. These lights guided ships into the fresh water delta once known as the Venice of America. If this maritime heritage on Lake St. Clair is to be saved, restoration efforts must continue. Save Our South Channel Lights is an all-volunteer, non profit organization that was formed to accomplish this. Harsens Island, Michigan
