These conservationists believe our wildlife heritage should not be jeopardized by any activity that fails to ensure its long-term health and sustainability. The Arizona Wildlife Federation, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation was founded in 1923 to take politics out of fish and game management and to promote the management of Arizona's natural resources on a scientific basis. The Grand Canyon (Arizona) Chapter was formed in 1965 in order to focus attention on stopping dams in Grand Canyon. Our work to protect the Colorado River and Grand Canyon National Park continues today and has been joined by a number of programs to safeguard other areas and issues. The Grand Canyon Chapter seeks to engage its members and the public in protecting our communities; public lands, including national parks, forests, and wildlife refuges; rivers and streams; and wildlife.
