- Aquia Creek Boat Club
The Aquia Creek boating site is a free community website for residents, boaters, and friends along the Aquia Creek region in Virginia. The Broad Bay Sailing Association is very active in PHRF racing in Hampton Roads. Sailors can enjoy weekly racing on Wednesday nights at Little Creek and Thursday nights on the Willoughby Bay. These races go from mid-April to late September. In addition to weekly racing, the BBSA sponsors five weekend regattas. The Association also offers cruising and social events. Daingerfield Island Sailing Club (DISC), was launched in 1973 as the Daingerfield Island Cruising Fleet (DICF). It is comprised of sailors from Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Southern Maryland. DISC owns no property and has no employees. It is an all volunteer club that exists to organize and run sailing related activities that enhance and encourage constructive utilizations and enjoyment of our home waters on the upper Potomac river and beyond. During the afternoon of Saturday, July 3, 1999, several progressive Fawn Lake yachtsmen met aboard a Correct Craft ski boat. They were anchored off Country Club Cove at the foot of the Fawn Lake Clubhouse. They proposed forming a group of Fawn Lake residents which would serve as an organization for weekend skiing, socializing and summer fun in the warm waters of beautiful central Virginia. These individuals agreed to form the Fawn Lake Yacht Club. And the rest is history…
