  • Catawba Sail & Power Squadron
    Catawba Sail & Power Squadron is a non-profit organization and a unit of the United States Power Squadrons® (USPS) dedicated to educating boaters on basic safe boating procedures, teaching advanced and elective courses for members, raising awareness of water safety issues, and offering free vessel safety checks and opportunities for socialization to area boaters.     Welcome to the Charleston Model Yacht Club. CMYC has existed for 30 years starting in 1986. Our sailing fleet consists of East Coast 12 Meter (EC12)and the Soling One Meter (S1M) classes ( 2 of the largest AMYA Class registrations). Guests are welcome to come and sail with us any time, whether you are an experienced sailor or would just like to learn. We sail at the James Island County Park on a multi acre freshwater lake. There are two courses so we always have an upwind start. We welcome all sailors of all RC boats.   • Charleston Ocean Racing Association
    The Charleston Ocean Racing Association (CORA) was formed in 1967 and races year round in Charleston's historic harbor and offshore waters. The primary objective of this Association is to promote sailing and to encourage good fellowship among sailors, afloat and ashore. With this in mind we run over 30 races per year for boats generally 24 feet or larger. We host a national marquee event, Charleston Race Week, with over 200 boats from around the country.
