    The Ashtabula Yacht Club is located in northeast Ohio, 60 miles east of Cleveland. It sits in a protected harbor on the Ashtabula River, approximately 1/2 mile south of the lighthouse on Lake Erie.     Founded in 1939, CYC, short for "Chippewa Yacht Club", was created to foster, encourage, and engage members of the community in the sport of sailing. Our clubhouse, boatyard and docks are located on the shores of beautiful Chippewa Lake. While we are a serious sailing club we are also a social organization that succeeds through its members. Anyone with a sailboat 22 foot or under is welcome to join us, however we focus on racing Y-Flyer and Snipe (dinghy classes) every Sunday throughout the summer.     Sailing on Cowan Lake near Wilmington, Ohio. Cowan Lake Sailing Association (CLSA) was established in 1954 by a group of people with a common interest; promoting the sport of sailing.
