The Corinthian Sailing Association of Lake Pontchartrain was established in 1983 as a non-profit club by a group of avid sailors, whose principal purpose was to provide a low-cost venue for racing sailboats on Lake Pontchartrain. In addition to racing, the Corinthians promote the knowledge and expertise of seamanship and sailing through educational programs designed to make the sport of sailing safer and more exciting. The New Orleans Yacht Club was founded in 1949 and is dedicated to further the sport of Yacht racing, marine safety and seamanship.
