- The British Army takes the Mercury Challenge
Up to 120 officers and soldiers from the British Army will be taking part in Mercury Challenge, a round-the-world expedition that got under way this week. The soldiers and officers, most of whom are members of the Royal Corps of Signals, will complete the 33,000 nautical mile trip in 10 legs taking an East to West route and the whole trip will take 11 months. Along the way thay plan to take part in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Race and Antigua Race Week.
