- Kayak Nova Scotia
Started kayaking in a home-built SOF in the early 70's, wasted my youth paddling the Northumberland Strait and its many estuaries. Got back into the sport in a big way about 8 years ago, and it was just like going home. Matter of fact, I DID move home; back beside the river where I was born and raised. Having a tidal river leading to the ocean in my back yard makes paddling a sheer pleasure.

- Nessmuking.com
Nessmuking.com is named after Nessmuk, the pen name of George Washington Sears. In the 1880's, Sears wrote about lightweight canoe travel, self-direction, and environmentalism. This website follows his pathway with a goal to provide information about lightweight canoe and kayak travel, while advancing wilderness protection through growing paddlesport participation.
